The Google Pixel 11 is now official. Google unveiled the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold at its Made by Google event on August 12, alongside the Pixel Watch 5 and Pixel Tag. The new generation focuses heavily on AI, photography, battery life and Google’s new Tensor G6 processor. The biggest surprise for buyers is pricing. The standard Pixel 11 starts at $899, while the Pro and Pro XL start at $1,099 and $1,299. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold starts at $1,899. All four phones now start with 256GB storage.

Pixel 11 Pro$1,099256GB16GB
Pixel 11 Pro XL$1,299256GB16GB
Pixel 11 Pro Fold$1,899256GB16GB

The $100 increase across the lineup is one of the biggest changes this year. However, Google has also increased the starting storage to 256GB, giving buyers more space out of the box.

Tensor G6 Brings More AI

At the heart of the Google Pixel 11 lineup is the new Tensor G6 chip. Google is using the processor to improve AI performance, power efficiency, photography and Gemini-powered features rather than simply chasing benchmark scores.

The phones also receive Google’s latest AI-focused software features, including Magic Capture, which can extract photos from video, and new Camera Looks that give users more control over the appearance of their photos.

Pixel 11 Gets Camera Upgrades

The standard Pixel 11 features an upgraded 48MP main camera, while the Pro models receive improved camera hardware and up to 120x Pro Zoom. Google is also introducing Pro Stable Video, enhanced video capabilities and new creator-focused tools.

Pixel 11 Pro Gets a New HiLight

The Pro models get one of the more unusual hardware changes: a new RGB HiLight LED built into the camera area. It can provide visual alerts for contacts and certain AI interactions, giving the phone a small hardware notification system that stands out from most modern smartphones. The Pro and Pro XL also feature displays reaching up to 3,600 nits, along with improved cameras and faster charging.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold

Google’s most sophisticated foldable: Pixel 11 Pro Fold

Google’s premium foldable starts at $1,899 and comes with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold brings thinner bezels, improved durability with an IP68 rating, brighter displays and upgraded cameras. For buyers who want a foldable, Google’s biggest advantage remains its combination of Pixel photography, Android and Gemini features.

Pixel Watch 5 and Pixel Tag

Google also expanded its hardware ecosystem. The Pixel Watch 5 starts at $399 and adds new health and fitness features, including breathing-related monitoring and new workout tools. Meanwhile, Pixel Tag is Google’s answer to Apple’s AirTag. It launches November 11 for $29, or $99 for a four-pack, and works with Google’s Find Hub network.

Is the Google Pixel 11 Worth It?

The Pixel 11 looks more like a refinement than a complete redesign. Google has concentrated on AI, camera processing, battery efficiency and software instead of making dramatic changes to the overall phone design. The $100 price increase could make the decision harder, but the move to 256GB starting storage helps soften the increase. For existing Pixel 10 owners, upgrading immediately may not be essential. However, anyone using an older Pixel or considering a move into Google’s AI ecosystem has considerably more to gain.

GizmoAlert’s Take

The Google Pixel 11 is Google’s clearest statement yet that the future of its smartphones is centered around AI. Tensor G6, Gemini, new camera tools and features such as Magic Capture show that Google is trying to make AI part of everyday smartphone use rather than another app sitting on the home screen. The biggest concern is price. At $899 for the standard model and $1,899 for the Pro Fold, Google is asking buyers to pay more than last year’s generation. Whether that premium is justified will ultimately depend on one thing:

Do Google’s AI features actually make the Pixel 11 better to use every day?

For now, the hardware looks promising — but the software is where Google’s biggest gamble begins.
